Oversized hoodies in Pakistan

A true oversized hoodie is cut wider in the chest with dropped shoulders and a slightly shorter, boxy body, so you buy your normal size rather than sizing up. In Pakistan oversized hoodies typically cost about Rs. 1,800 to 3,000 at markets, Rs. 3,500 to 7,000 on the high street and Rs. 5,000 to 10,000 from streetwear labels using heavyweight 320 to 400 GSM fleece.

If you want general hoodie prices, from market pullovers to luxury fleece, our hoodie price in Pakistan guide covers that. This page is about one shape: the oversized hoodie. It is the most searched hoodie style in Pakistan this winter, and also the one people most often get wrong, usually by buying a regular hoodie two sizes up and wondering why the sleeves cover their hands and the hem reaches their thighs. Here is how a real oversized hoodie is built, how to size it, what fabric weight to look for and how to wear it.

What makes a hoodie oversized

  • Drop shoulder: the shoulder seam sits several centimetres down the upper arm, not on the shoulder bone. This is the single biggest sign of an oversized pattern.
  • Wide, boxy body: the chest is cut wider, but the length stays around the hip or just below.
  • Roomy sleeves: wider through the upper arm, finished with a ribbed cuff that stops the sleeve at the wrist.
  • Generous hood: a double-layer hood that holds its shape instead of collapsing flat.
  • Heavier fabric: oversized shapes need weight to drape; thin fleece on a wide pattern just looks floppy.

The same logic applies to tees, which we explain in oversized vs drop shoulder vs baggy.

How to size an oversized hoodie

Buy your normal size in a hoodie that is sold as oversized. Measure a hoodie you already like flat across the chest, armpit to armpit, and compare it with the size chart; an oversized hoodie for a medium build is usually around 60 to 66 cm across the chest. Then check the length: it should end at or just below the hip. If the chart only gives S, M and L with no measurements, ask for them before paying.

  • Between sizes: go for the size whose length suits you, not the chest; the chest is already roomy.
  • Short or slim build: a true oversized fit in your size is better than a regular fit one size up.
  • Wearing over a tee: make sure the hoodie is a few centimetres longer than your tee, or the tee hem shows. Our oversized t-shirt size guide helps you match the two.

Heavyweight hoodie: why GSM matters more on an oversized fit

GSM is grams per square metre, and on an oversized hoodie it decides the whole look. A heavyweight hoodie at 350 GSM or more holds its boxy shape, hangs straight from the shoulders and keeps the hood upright. Below about 280 GSM, the same wide pattern collapses and clings. For Karachi, 280 to 320 GSM is plenty; for Lahore and Islamabad winters, 350 to 400 GSM is worth the extra cost. A cotton-rich blend washes and ages better than polyester-heavy fleece, which pills.

Graphic, plain and washed vintage hoodies

Plain oversized hoodies in black, grey or cream are the easiest to wear and to layer. A graphic hoodie with a large back print suits the oversized cut because the wide back gives the artwork room; check that the print is screen printed or quality DTF rather than a heat transfer that cracks. Washed or vintage hoodies are garment-dyed or acid-washed after sewing for a faded, broken-in look; they cost more because of the extra process, and the fade varies piece to piece. Wash them inside out in cold water to keep the effect.

How to style an oversized hoodie

Balance is everything. An oversized hoodie on top wants either a baggy jean or a cargo pant for a full streetwear look, or a straight, slightly slimmer trouser if you want it cleaner. Wear a tee underneath that you can show when the hoodie comes off in a warm room: the Midnight Route Tee in black or the Mountain Silence Tee in white sit cleanly under fleece, and the Maroon Signature Tee gives a grey hoodie some colour. A heavyweight oversized t-shirt as the base layer means the outfit still looks right without the hoodie. For a zip version, see the zipper hoodie price in Pakistan guide.

Where RAAH fits in

RAAH makes oversized cotton t-shirts, not hoodies. For winter we have one layer, the RAAH Quarter-Zip Polo (Rs. 3,999), which is a smarter option than a hoodie over the same tees. Everything is on the shop page. If you want an oversized hoodie from RAAH, tell us on the contact page. Our winter clothes for men in Pakistan guide covers the rest of a winter wardrobe.

Frequently asked questions

Should I size up for an oversized hoodie?

No, if the hoodie is cut oversized. Buy your normal size; sizing up a true oversized pattern makes the sleeves and length too long.

What GSM is a heavyweight hoodie?

About 350 GSM and above is usually called heavyweight. 280 to 320 GSM is mid-weight and is enough for Karachi; Lahore and Islamabad suit heavier fleece.

What is the price of an oversized hoodie in Pakistan?

About Rs. 1,800 to 3,000 at markets, Rs. 3,500 to 7,000 on the high street and Rs. 5,000 to 10,000 from streetwear labels. Imported pieces start around Rs. 12,000.

How do I know if a hoodie is truly oversized?

Look for a dropped shoulder seam, a wide chest measurement with a hip-length body, and ribbed cuffs. A regular hoodie in a larger size is longer, not boxier.

Does RAAH sell oversized hoodies?

No. RAAH sells oversized cotton t-shirts and the Quarter-Zip Polo for winter. You can request hoodies through the contact page.
